Our family tree at Kerala Ayurveda Apothecary

Age of the Ancient Acharyas

5,000 BCE

In ancient times, the earliest Acharyas or spiritual leaders of the Indian subcontinent received the gifts of Ayurveda from the earth. These ancestors passed on the wisdom in an oral tradition for thousands of years.

Age of the Vedas

1,500-500 BCE

During the Vedic period, Ayurvedic wisdom was documented in the same Vedic texts. Ayurvedic knowledge was included specifically in the Atharva Veda, which was preserved and continuously used for training modern-day practitioners. The practice of Ayurveda was best-preserved in the state of Kerala, on the southwestern coast of India.

Acharya Vaidyan KGK Panicker

1945-1973

In 1945, the first Kerala Ayurveda Apothecary was established on the Periyar River near Aluva, Kerala, India. It was founded by Acharya Vaidyan KGK Panicker, an Ayurvedic practitioner and visionary for the industry.

Between 1948-1970, the apothecary expanded into a small-scale manufacturing center. Additional branches opened in the state of Kerala, and a nursing facility for Panchakarma detoxification programs was established.

Vaidya Anil Kumar

After the passing of his father, the great Acharya, Vaidya Anil Kumar continued the legacy and expanded the apothecary into a full-spectrum, award-winning Ayurvedic company. For more details, Click here.
